Alexandra “Lexie” Rigden

About
Alexandra (“Lexie”) Rigden practices family law and criminal defense. Lexie understands that family law and criminal defense clients face unique challenges in Court, with their families, funds, and freedom on the line.
Lexie handles all stages of family law and criminal litigation. Every case is different, and Lexie will work to achieve the best outcome for her clients, whether it involves litigation or settlement, a plea or a trial.
Lexie is certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a matrimonial law attorney after having successfully completed the requirements for certification in matrimonial law as set forth by the Supreme Court of New Jersey’s Board on Attorney Certification. A New Jersey attorney who is certified by the Supreme Court as a matrimonial law attorney must be a member in good standing of the NJ bar for over five years, maintain ongoing legal education requirements, demonstrate a substantial level of experience in matrimonial law, be favorably reviewed by other attorneys and judges familiar with his/her work, and take and pass a rigorous examination in matrimonial law.
She has extensive trial experience in family law matters, including divorce, domestic violence, child custody, alimony, equitable distribution, and child support. Lexie has been involved in a great number of Final Restraining Order hearings and has represented both defendants and alleged victims. This has given her a unique perspective as an advocate, having represented both sides.
Lexie is involved with family law on a statewide basis as an associate editor of the New Jersey Family Lawyer, the State Bar’s family law publication. She has lectured for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Lexie also handles all stages of criminal litigation, both in Superior Court and Municipal Court, for adults and juveniles. Lexie has jury trial experience. She has successfully argued on behalf of clients involved in serious offenses and has negotiated favorable outcomes for her clients in even the most serious of cases. Lexie has handled a wide range of issues in criminal court from the most serious cases (1st degrees) to petty disorderly persons offenses. Lexie understands that even low-level convictions can have a significant impact on a client’s life and livelihood.
Lexie has appeared as a guest legal analyst on Fox News, Fox 29, Court TV, CNN, and Law & Crime Network, among others.
Prior to practicing family law, Lexie was a law clerk for the Honorable M. Patricia Richmond, J.S.C. in Burlington County in the Civil Part.
Lexie is a South Jersey native who loves spending time with her friends and family, watching documentaries, and traveling.
